The 4th
Yesterday afternoon, I went out to Lee's place in La Goulette and watched the movie A Summer in La Goulette. The movie follows three families in the town - which is just North of central Tunis - as they live through the freewheeling summer of 1967, right before the outbreak of the Six-Day War. The families are Jewish, Muslim, and Christian - which shows the diversity that La Goulette once shared. You can still eat Jewish food and see a Jewish retirement home around the area.
After a few bottles of totally decent Tunisian wine, we headed off to Kristian and Dan's place for a late-night barbeque. We refrained from singing America, Fuck Yeah!
